HODGINS (Ballybrack and formerly of Monkstown Farm, Co. Dublin) – October 7th 2021 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at Beechfield Nursing Home, Shankill.  Joseph (Sam) (formerly of Glenageary Sorting Office, the 2nd Battalion Cathal Brugha Street, the 32nd Battalion the Congo and late of Blackrock Athletic Club); dearly beloved husband of Mary, much loved father of Patricia, Gráinne, Mary, Joseph, Anthony, Siobhán, Fiona and John, predeceased by his brother Páid and sister Maura..  Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, sons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and partners, his fifteen grandchildren, brother Micheál, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours. 


May he rest in peace. 


Reposing at his home on Monday (October 11th) from 5pm to 7pm.  Removal on Tuesday (October 12th) to the Church of St. Columbanus, Loughlinstown Drive arriving for 10am Requiem Mass.  Funeral immediately afterwards to the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium arriving for 12.15pm Committal Service.  To view the Funeral Mass go to  and the Committal Service at the crematorium go to
