Jerry was my teacher in 3rd class when he won the Marathon in 1982. We were all so proud of him. He was an amazing teacher and got the best out of all of his students. To the Kiernan Family - I am very sorry for your loss. It was just pleasure being in his company. Eugene

My sincere condolences on the sad passing of Jerry. I did not know him on a personal level, but I loved hearing his athletic commentary. His passion, knowledge and straight talking on athletics was simply wonderful. My sincere condolences to his family and friends and the athletes who he coached and befriended. I will miss Jerry’s commentary greatly and he is a big loss to the athletic community. Rest In Peace Jerry.
